
Purchase Controller
My client is a Cork company who are involved in renovation, deep retrofit, insulation, and energy upgrades for over 20 years offering a rare opportunity for a Purchasing Controller. Based in West Cork, this is an office-based position, and we are looking for someone who is ambitious to join an excellent medium sized contractor. This is a great opportunity to learn and excel your career quickly. Work closely with an experienced team and be involved in all aspects of the job. You will be working on several jobs at any given time, normal office hours apply with this role. You will be responsible for supporting the purchasing function for all indirect purchasing negotiations & supplier management.
Role will involve:
- Working on key projects, liaising with senior leaders, internal office, SEAI and clients
- Drive system and software development to ensure purchasing controls are up to date
- Negotiate with contractors and suppliers to keep project within budget
- Purchasing – Generate specifications for the purchase t of equipment and instrumentation
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure all purchasing policies and procedures are followed
- Planning and Scheduling, Coordination with key stakeholders
- Manage external factors such as planning and inspections with SEAI
The Person
- Coming from a sales or purchasing background either in materials or hardware
- Hungry and ambitious
- Knowledge of construction sector
- Excellent communication skills
- Able to take direction well
- Excellent organisational skills
