CSC Partners Recruitment is delighted to be working with one of Galway’s leading international technical businesses to source a qualified General Ledger Accountant, this new position is for growth both organically and by acquisition and is operationally focused.  Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, the successful candidate will take responsibility to ensure the alignment of business objectives. 

Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Support of the monthly and quarterly financial reporting cycle, ensuring it is completed in a timely, accurate and efficient manner in accordance with IFRS including preparation, analysis and posting of journals
  • Calculation, posting and analysis of monthly accruals and prepayments
  • Preparation and analysis of balance sheet reconciliations at month end
  • Review and reconciliation of inter-company accounts, involving communication with other legal entities
  • Preparation of multi-currency bank reconciliations
  • Preparation of related variance analysis
  • Assist with the integration of new acquisitions
  • Support external audit for periodic year-end review procedures and local statutory audits
  • Provision of input on local finance policies and procedures ensuring ongoing compliance for all accounting and finance operations
  • Participation in ongoing policy and control environment development to ensure compliance with applicable internal control regulations
  • Input to and deployment of new and existing processes and systems to ensure efficient delivery of value-add information to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Be an effective team player who will drive efficiency and continuous improvement throughout the department       

You will have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • Recognised professional qualification e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA
  • Circa 3 years of experience gained in an international company/multi-cultural environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Fluency in a European language an advantage
  • Highly proficient with MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience of ERP systems Oracle an advantage
