
Financial Controller – Cork
CSC Partners is delighted to have been retained to source and recruit a qualified accountant to a senior position within a developing indigenous company. Based in Cork, this job will fulfil the position of Financial Controller. This is a key position and will give an excellent opportunity to whoever joins this company to lead the financial control team during a period of strong growth within their sector. My client is long established with an excellent reputation in Cork and surround. This is a permanent position and an excellent salary is on offer.
Responsibilities:
This is a key position within the company and reporting to the Directors you will have responsibility for the smooth running of the finance department including:
- Overseeing the financial team and managing the finance function
- Overseeing the preparation of monthly management and financial accounts
- Financial modelling & analysis of the business
- Setting metric driven KPI’s and targets for the business and reporting on same
- Preparation of cash flow statements, budgets, and forecasts
- Preparation of year end accounts and liaising with company auditors
- Responsibility for completion of annual budgets, cashflows and forecasts
- Control Account and Balance Sheet reconciliations
- Preparing profitability and costing reports
- Overseeing statutory returns function
- Duties relating to cash management and the company treasury
- Managing CAPEX budgets
- Review Company Operating Procedures
- Management of Finance staff and overseeing with all aspects of the finance function, VAT returns, bank reconciliations accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll
- Ongoing systems development – and development of reports suitable to the changing needs of the business
- Development and implementation of internal financial processes controls and systems
- Liaising with external auditors, revenue, and key stakeholders
You will be:
- Qualified Accountant through a professional accounting qualification
- 8 years + post qualification experience
- An ability to work according to stringent deadlines
- An understanding of business and financial issues
- The capacity to multitask
- A strong and focused decision maker
- Good understanding of IT systems and a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Financial management experience and strong analytical skills
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and people management skills
- Experience in a similar role or clearly demonstrate an ability to take on the role
